MARRIAGE OF JEMIMA HARVEY TO GEORGE SAVADGE

EVALUATION OF JEMIMA HARVEY AND GEORGE SAVADGE MARRIAGE

We believe that Jemima Harvey daughter of Job Jr. Harvey and Hannah, married George Savadge for the following reasons:

Joseph Harvey, son of Job Jr. and Hannah, gives money in his will to his sister Jemima Savage (see #1—Will of Joseph Harvey in relation to Jemima Savage)

A book, “Early Pennsylvania Marriages Prior to 1790” lists Jemima Harvey marrying George Savadge 18 Aug 1770. (See #2—Early Penn Marriages listing Jemima Harvey marrying George Savadge)

A researcher on the line confirms Jemima Harvey married a George Sevitz saying that there was a name change. (See #3—Email 2002; see #4—Email2009)

MARRIAGE OF KEZIAH HARVEY AND EZEKIAL JAMES and children

Keziah Harvey, daughter of Job Jr. Harvey and Hannah

We think that Keviah Harvey married Ezekial James and had the following children: Ann (born 1775), Hannah (born 1778), John (born 1779), and Ezekiel (born 1782), for the following reasons:

Will of Joseph Harvey, brother of Job2 Harvey, gives money to his sister Keziah James and to her daughter Ann (See #1--Will of Joseph Harvey in relation to Keziah James)

2. Early Church Records of Chester County has an entry that lists Keziah and Ezekiel and their children (See #2—Early Church Records listing Keziah and Ezekiel James and their childrean).
The first two documents are the will of Joseph Harvey, brother of Samuel Harvey and son of Job Harvey. His will gives money to his sister Keziah James and her daughter Ann.

The second two documents are Early Church Records of Chester Pennsylvania which show Keziah and Ezekiel James and their children.

Further research shows that Job’s 2nd wife Elizabeth was the mother of Susanna and Elizabeth. We have birth records of Susanna and Elizabeth with Job and Elisabeth as parents from a Catholic church in Philadelphia (see #15 and #15a). This fits with Job1’s will which indicates that the children left the Quaker religion (see Job 1’s will see #3). Finally, Job2’s will lists Susannah and Elizabeth. (see #15c)

The following Images are the documentation:

#3--last page of Job2's will showing Suzanna and Elizabeth
#4--page from Job1's will showing that his sons have likely left the Quaker faith

A NEW BLOG FOR FAMILY HISTORY!!!!!!

Hello All,

We are starting a blog so anyone wanting to do family history can have the latest research information that Sandy and I have done. We are working on the Harvey line. This line connects with us as follows:

Richard Monson’s mother was Martha Jesina Allred.

Martha Jesina Allred’s parents were—J Urban Allred and Amelia May Hammond

Amelia May Hammond’s parents were—Francis Asbury Hammond and Mary Jane Dilworth

Mary Jane Dilworth’s parents were—Caleb Dilworth and Eliza Woolerton

Eliza Woolerton’s parents were—William Woolerton and Rebecca Harvey

Rebecca Harvey’s parents were—Samuel Harvey and Martha Martin

At this point, the line had stopped. However, we found who Samuel Harvey’s parents, grandparents, children, etc. were through our research. Below is a summary of our evidence that Samuel Harvey’s father was Job Harvey and Job’s father was also named Job.

We have also put digital copies of the documents we used as evidence on the blog.

OUR EVIDENCE FOR PARENTS OF SAMUEL HARVEY BEING JOB Jr.AND HANNAH. JOB Jr. PARENTS BEING JOB AND MARY BETHEL

Parents: (Job Harvey and Mary Bethel)
We believe Job2 Harvey’s father was Job Harvey for the following reasons:
1. Profession of both are listed as fullers (see Image #1--Calendar of wills and Image #2--Book reference ).
2. The will of Job 1 lists a son known as Job (see Image #3)
3. Darby, Chester Pennsylvania (where Job1 died) and Newcastle Pennsylvania (where Job2 died) are close (see Image#4)
4. Quaker records of birth fit. A record containing the list of births, marriages, removals and burial recorded in the Darby Monthly meeting of 1682 to 1891 lists Job2’s birthdate and parents (see Image#5)
5. Job 1’s will gives Job 2 a tract of land in Charlestown and when Job 2 dies this tract reverts to his two Grandsons (see Image#6). Samuel, Job2’s son, dies in Charlestown (see Image#7).
6. Tax records of Charlestown list Samuel Harvey as a fuller and owning 200 acres of land in Charlestown (see Image#8)
7. A will of Joseph Harvey, Samuel Harvey's brother, lists Joseph's father's name as Job of Pencadur. It also lists Samuel's daugher as Rebecca Woolerton so we know Samuel is of our lineage. (see Image #9a)

Birthdate:
Job2 was born 24 Jan 1711 (see Image#5 above)

Children:
Job2 had the following children:
Job, Josiah, Susannah, Elizabeth, Joseph, Samuel, William, Jemima and Keziah. (See Image#9)

Marriages:
It appears that Job2 Harvey was married at least two times: The first time to Hannah and the second time to Elizabeth Harvey. This conclusion is based on the following documents:

A book called “First Families of Chester County Pennsylvania”, names his first wife as “Hannah” and his second wife as Martha Smith Parker (though I know this second wife is in error—his father married Martha Parker, not Job Jr.) (see Image#10)

A book called “Early Church Records of Delaware County” lists Hannah Harvey, wife of Job Harvey Jr. (See Image#11)

A book called “A Calendar of Wills and Administrations” lists Job Harvey with his wife Elizabeth Harvey as executor of his Estate. (See Image#12)

Death:
Job2 died in 1766 (See Image#13)

Ordinance Work:
The ordinance work has been done for the children and spouses, except as of Jan09, the sealing of William Harvey to parents had not been completed.
